Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, known as "The Rav," is widely recognized as the most profound Jewish philosopher of recent history, and is a seminal figure in Modern Orthodoxy. He was the Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University from 1941-1993.
