Dr. Arnold Lustiger

After attending high school at the Philadelphia Yeshiva, Dr. Lustiger received his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 1985. He presently does research for ExxonMobil on the properties of plastics. In 1973, when Dr. Lustiger was a sophomore in college, he attended a public lecture by the Rav at the University of Pennsylvania, which was the beginning of an obsession. Twenty years later, when Rabbi Milton Nordlicht of Queens, NY made a thousand hours of recordings of the Rav's lectures and shiurim available to the public, Dr. Lustiger listened to them all, and edited three books based on selected
tapes in Yiddish: "Before Hashem You Shall Be Purified: Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik on the Days of Awe" published in 1998, "Derashot Harav, Selected Lectures of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik" in 2003 and, a Yom Kippur Machzor with commentary adapted from the teachings of the Rav this year. He is now working on a machzor for Rosh Hashanah.
